
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather update forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall in various parts of the country for the upcoming day. The weather advisory specifies regions where significant precipitation is expected. Heavy rainfall is predicted for Chhattisgarh, coastal Karnataka, Madhya Maharashtra, and Uttarakhand. Moreover, adverse weather conditions are anticipated in coastal Andhra Pradesh, East Rajasthan, the Gujarat region, Himachal Pradesh, interior Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, Konkan, and Goa. The Meteorological Department also reported that heavy rainfall is likely in Madhya Pradesh, Marathwada, Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Telangana, and Vidarbha regions. The forecast also suggests that issues such as waterlogging, traffic disruptions, and landslides could occur in these areas, especially in hilly terrains.
In addition to the rainfall predictions, strong winds accompanied by thunderstorms may impact certain locations, including the Andaman-Nicobar Islands, Bihar, Gujarat state, interior Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Jharkhand, Lakshadweep, and Telangana. Local authorities have urged residents to stay alert and adhere to local weather instructions due to the active monsoon season and the widespread rainfall affecting the nation.
