
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for heavy rainfall in several states, extending until July 15th. This could potentially cause travel disruptions. While Bengaluru residents experienced pleasant weather on July 10th, other areas like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Arunachal Pradesh were hit by thunderstorms and gusty winds. The IMD forecasts light to moderate rain in South Peninsular India, including Kerala and Lakshadweep, over the next week. The advisory also highlights ongoing rainy conditions in Northeast and Northwest India over the weekend. A severe weather warning is in effect for East and Central India, where torrential rains are expected, possibly leading to traffic delays. The affected regions include Madhya Pradesh (July 10-15), Vidarbha (July 10-11), Chhattisgarh (July 10-11, 14 & 15), Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim (July 10 & 13), Gangetic West Bengal (July 10 & 14), Jharkhand (July 10), and Odisha (July 9 and July 13-15). Heavy rain and subsequent waterlogging and traffic congestion were observed in Delhi-NCR on Wednesday. The IMD predicts that light to moderate rain will continue through the weekend. Further alerts have been issued for intense downpours in East Rajasthan and Uttarakhand (July 10-15), Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh (July 10), Himachal Pradesh (July 10 and July 13-15), West Uttar Pradesh (July 10-13), East Uttar Pradesh (July 10-11), and West Rajasthan (July 12-15). Authorities urge residents to remain cautious and check traffic conditions before traveling.
