
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has released a comprehensive weather update, detailing expected conditions across various regions. Heavy rainfall is forecasted to persist in the northeastern states and Maharashtra for the next two to three days. The withdrawal of the southwest monsoon is underway in parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, and Gujarat, with further withdrawal expected in the coming two days. The withdrawal line currently runs through Sri Ganganagar, Nagaur, Jodhpur, and Barmer.
Weather systems are expected to be influenced by upper air cyclonic circulation over central Assam, east Bihar, and the southeast Bay of Bengal, impacting northeastern, central, and south peninsular states. Tuesday, September 16, will see light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Telangana, and Karnataka can anticipate light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and gusty winds until September 17. Strong surface winds are likely in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema over the next five days. West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand, and Bihar are expected to receive light to moderate rain on September 16. Konkan, Goa, and Madhya Maharashtra will also experience rainfall on Tuesday. The IMD predicts moderate rain and thunderstorms in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and East Uttar Pradesh.
