Lieutenant General Manoj Katiyar, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Command, stated that if Pakistan or its supported terrorist groups were to carry out another terrorist attack, India’s response would be even more robust. He pointed out the ongoing ‘Operation Sindoor’ as an indication of India’s readiness to counter any aggressive moves by Pakistan. Speaking at the diamond jubilee celebrations of the 1965 India-Pakistan war victory, Lieutenant General Katiyar mentioned the peaceful conditions on the ground since the May 10 ceasefire. He expressed his hope that Pakistan would not attempt any further aggression. He also stated that there would be no option but to give a strong response if another attack occurs. He noted the aim of the Pahalgam terrorist attack was to damage the situation in Jammu and Kashmir and to provoke communal tensions in India. He stated that the neighboring country will persist in trying to undermine the secular nature of India.
