
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Semicon India 2025 conference at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, a platform designed to accelerate the semiconductor sector within the country. The event, running from September 2 to 4, is dedicated to fostering a sustainable and resilient semiconductor industry. PM Modi remarked on his recent travels, setting a light tone for his speech. He emphasized the global trust in India and the eagerness of the world to build the future of semiconductors in partnership with India. The Prime Minister pointed to the significant investment of over Rs 1.5 lakh crore in ten semiconductor projects as evidence of this growing global confidence. The launch of the National Single Window System was also mentioned, designed to simplify bureaucratic processes for investors. PM Modi expressed enthusiasm for welcoming investors and for the vision of ‘Designed in India, Made in India, Trusted by the World’. He also stated India’s commitment to becoming a full-stack semiconductor nation, suggesting a future where India’s technological advances will lead to significant global impact.
