
The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, has called for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the case of an Indore couple, Raja Raghuvanshi and his wife, Sonam, who went missing in Meghalaya. Raja was found dead, but Sonam is still missing. Yadav has reached out to Union Home Minister Amit Shah requesting a CBI investigation. He stated that Madhya Pradesh stands with Sonam Raghuvanshi’s family during this crisis. The Chief Minister has also discussed the matter with the Chief Minister of Meghalaya. Senior police officers from Madhya Pradesh are in constant contact with Meghalaya authorities. The family of Raja Raghuvanshi had previously written to the Prime Minister requesting a CBI probe. Raja’s remains were found in a gorge in Cherrapunji. The couple was last seen on May 23. Raja’s body was recovered on June 2, and Sonam remains missing. Vipul Raghuvanshi, Raja’s brother, expressed the family’s desire for a CBI inquiry. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has offered condolences and assured that action will be taken against those involved.
