
Madhya Pradesh’s Chief Minister, Mohan Yadav, has requested a CBI investigation into the case of an Indore couple, Raja Raghuvanshi and Sonam, who went missing in Shillong, Meghalaya. Raja was found dead, while Sonam remains missing.
Chief Minister Yadav reached out to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, advocating for the CBI probe. He also took to social media to express his solidarity with the family, stating that he had spoken with the Meghalaya Chief Minister and that Madhya Pradesh police officials were collaborating with Meghalaya authorities. He emphasized that all efforts are being made to find Sonam.
The family had previously written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting a CBI investigation.
The couple vanished during their honeymoon. Raja’s remains were recovered from a gorge. Sonam is still missing, and the search is ongoing. The family’s last contact with the couple was on May 23.
