Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has requested a CBI investigation into the case of Raja Raghuvanshi and his wife, Sonam, who went missing in Shillong. Raja was later found dead, while Sonam remains missing. Yadav has discussed the matter with the Chief Minister of Meghalaya and has been in contact with senior police officers. The family has also written to the Prime Minister, seeking a CBI probe. The couple was last seen on their honeymoon on May 23. Raja’s remains were found in a gorge near Cherrapunji on June 2. The family hopes a CBI inquiry will bring justice. Vipul Raghuvanshi, Raja’s brother, stated that the Meghalaya police’s investigation is not enough. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has expressed condolences and assured that all necessary steps would be taken.
