
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled for a two-day tour spanning Bihar, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh, beginning June 20th. The itinerary highlights infrastructure development, socio-economic progress, and a major focus on promoting wellness through the International Yoga Day celebrations.
In Bihar, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for several key projects in Siwan, boosting the region’s infrastructure. This includes the new Vaishali-Deoria railway line and a new Vande Bharat Express service. Further, a state-of-the-art locomotive for export to Guinea will be flagged off. Under the Namami Gange project, six Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) will be inaugurated, and additional projects related to water supply, sanitation, and STPs will be launched. The establishment of a 500 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) will significantly enhance power infrastructure.
Odisha will see the Prime Minister participating in a state-level function in Bhubaneswar, commemorating the State Government’s first year. Development projects worth over Rs 18,600 crore will be inaugurated, covering vital sectors such as drinking water, irrigation, and rural infrastructure. New train services will be launched, expanding rail connectivity to the Boudh district. In addition, 100 electric buses will be flagged off under the CRUT system. The Odisha Vision Document will be released, along with the ‘Baraputra Aitihya Gram Yojana’ initiative. Women achievers across the state will also be felicitated.
On June 21st, the Prime Minister will lead the nation in celebrating International Yoga Day in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. A mass yoga demonstration will be held at the beachfront, emphasizing this year’s theme of ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health.’
