Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Bihar and West Bengal today, focusing on the inauguration and ground-breaking of several development projects. These projects represent an investment of roughly Rs 18,200 crore.
In Bihar, the Prime Minister is scheduled to be in Gaya at around 11 am. Here, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for projects valued at approximately Rs 13,000 crore. The program includes the launch of two trains and a public address. A noteworthy element of the Bihar visit is the inauguration of the Auntha-Simaria bridge across the Ganga River. This bridge, spanning 8.15 km, is on NH-31 and features a six-lane bridge section of 1.86 km, costing over Rs 1,870 crore. This bridge aims to enhance connectivity between Mokama in Patna and Begusarai, reducing the need for heavy vehicles to take a lengthy detour, which is currently necessitated by the existing, older ‘Rajendra Setu’ bridge.
In West Bengal, beginning at about 4:15 PM, the Prime Minister will inaugurate new Metro train sections in Kolkata and take a Metro ride from JC Road Metro Station to Jai Hind Airport. He will also oversee the foundation stone laying and inauguration of projects worth more than Rs 5,200 crore and address a public meeting.
These infrastructure projects are designed to ease traffic congestion and enhance connectivity in both states, underlining the Prime Minister’s ongoing emphasis on infrastructure development.
