Starlink, the satellite internet service spearheaded by Elon Musk, is gearing up to launch in India within the next two months. The company has obtained the necessary license, making it the third to do so, behind Eutelsat’s OneWeb and Reliance Jio. Upon launch, Starlink will offer a free one-month trial period to its customers. The subscription model includes a ₹33,000 satellite dish and a monthly fee of ₹3,000 for unlimited data. This service is aimed at improving internet access in remote and underdeveloped regions, where the current infrastructure is lacking. Starlink utilizes a network of low Earth orbit satellites to provide high-speed internet. The pricing in India is on par with neighboring countries, such as Bangladesh and Bhutan. Starlink is operational in over 100 countries, offering diverse service plans. The company had previously formed partnerships with major Indian telecom companies, Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel.
