
On its tenth anniversary, the Smart City Mission held a celebration. Rupa Mishra, Joint Secretary and Director of the Smart City Mission at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, connected with the CEOs and officials of all smart cities via video conference. Mishra offered her congratulations, highlighting the mission’s positive impact on India’s urbanization and its ongoing momentum. She underscored the continued work of the SPVs in developing the 100 cities, with a focus on integrating their expertise into urban development plans.
Ranchi Smart City provided an update on its projects to the Indian government. Rakesh Kumar Nandkyoliyar, General Manager (Technical) of Ranchi Smart City Corporation, discussed the Greenfield project that is transforming Ranchi. The government is supporting similar Greenfield development initiatives across the state.
The Director of the Smart City Mission lauded the project, suggesting that other cities should adopt similar programs. The Smart City Mission, under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, plans to create a blueprint based on Ranchi’s Smart City model. This model is designed to promote planned development, provide world-class amenities, generate employment opportunities, and foster self-sufficiency through land monetization strategies.
