A heartbreaking scene unfolded in West Singhbhum’s Goilkera block on Saturday morning when a newborn baby was found alone and crying in bushes near Machhua Toli, behind the Girls School. Eyewitnesses suggested that the baby was abandoned by its mother near a banyan tree. The infant’s cries drew the attention of nearby residents, who rushed to the location and found the helpless child. A compassionate couple, Ramesh Bhuiyan and Sujata Bhuiyan from the local community, immediately offered to take responsibility for the child’s upbringing, showcasing immense empathy. It is believed the abandonment occurred late Friday night. The Bhuiyan family is currently nurturing the baby, and the incident has been reported to the local administration. Efforts to trace the mother who left the child are ongoing, with no success yet.
