Panic ensued near Agrico Signal in Chaibasa’s Sidgora area late Tuesday evening when a garage caught fire. Visible from a distance, the intense flames and dark smoke forced nearby residents out of their homes. Reports from the scene suggest a short circuit initiated the fire, which swiftly spread to a parked car and an auto-rickshaw. The rapid escalation of the blaze meant both vehicles were almost entirely consumed before firefighters could intervene. The fire department and Sidgora police were alerted by concerned locals. Crews worked diligently for about half an hour to bring the fire under control, successfully preventing it from spreading further. Thankfully, no one was reported injured during the incident. The car and auto were completely ruined by the fire. An investigation into the cause of the fire has been launched by the police.
