
Jain Vidyalaya in Koderma proudly inaugurated the Ahimsa Indoor Sports Academy on Sunday, marking a significant development for local sports enthusiasts. The launch ceremony was attended by a distinguished gathering of Jain community leaders, including Minister Narendra Jhanjhri, Co-Minister Raj Chhabra, School Convener Sunil Jain Chhabra, Piyush Jain Kashliwal, and social figures Suresh Jhanjhri, Sushil Chhabra, Pradeep Chhabra, Suresh Pandya, Kiran Tholya, Mona Chhabra, and Jain Youth Committee President Rajiv Chhabra.
This modern indoor stadium, a 2024 contribution from the family of Chairman Kishore Ji Pandya, is now a central feature of the Jain Vidyalaya campus. Badminton has been chosen as the inaugural sport, with play commencing on Sunday. Academy Chairman Sunil Jain Chhabra detailed the operational timings: from 4 PM until 10:45 PM every evening. Specific slots are allocated for different age groups, with children and women utilizing the facility from 4 PM to 7 PM, followed by the youth.
Looking ahead, the academy aims to broaden its scope by incorporating additional sports and fitness amenities. Table tennis, carrom, chess, and a gym equipped for physical training are slated for future introduction. The academy extends its invitation to all members of the community, offering access to its facilities through registration and a modest monthly subscription.
The formal proceedings were expertly handled by Abhishek Jain, the In-charge of Digambar Jain Vidyalaya, while Shashi Chhabra commenced the event with auspicious verses. The occasion was further enriched by the presence of community members, Rahul Chhabra, President of the Marwari Yuva Manch, and several talented athletes such as Sumit Chhabra, Siddharth Jhanjhri, Akash Gangwal, Arihant Jhanjhri, Kumar Aryan, and Kumar Sankalp.
Former Ward Councilor Pinki Jain highlighted the critical balance between education and sports in the development of young individuals. Media liaisons Naveen Jain and Rajkumar Ajmera conveyed their happiness regarding the academy’s opening, anticipating its positive impact on Koderma’s sporting culture.
