The footage, from December 10, 2025, near a main assembly gate, shows the two politicians in a regular gathering spot. The Congress leader dismissed claims of any pen drive handover as fictitious, stating the interaction was a spontaneous discussion about a newspaper article. This article, the leader mentioned, was also on their agenda to raise within the assembly. The leader stressed that the meeting occurred in broad daylight in a public assembly corridor, surrounded by numerous legislators, media personnel, and security, and under the watchful eyes of multiple CCTV cameras. They questioned the rationality of conducting any surreptitious activity under such conditions, where discovery would be almost inevitable. The leader believes this is a deliberate attempt by a persistent lobby to discredit them, citing past instances where this group allegedly tried to destabilize the Congress party.
