Chaos erupted in Ranchi, Jharkhand, as traffic police officers became victims of a violent attack by auto-rickshaw drivers. The incident, which happened in broad daylight at Kathel Mod under the Nagri police station jurisdiction, has sent shockwaves through the community.
The attack, captured on video and widely shared on social media, shows the auto drivers aggressively confronting and assaulting the traffic police. Initial reports suggest that three or four auto drivers were involved, using stones to inflict injuries on the officers. One officer, identified as Rohit Ganjhu, sustained a severe head injury and is currently in critical condition at RIMS hospital in Ranchi.
The auto drivers involved in the attack fled the scene immediately following the assault. Police are conducting a manhunt to track down the perpetrators and bring them to justice. The Traffic SP of Ranchi has promised to take severe action against those responsible. The investigation is being managed by the Nagri police station.
The video of the incident depicts a violent altercation, with auto drivers repeatedly striking traffic police officers. The officers are seen attempting to defend themselves with batons, but were ultimately overpowered. One officer was struck by a stone and fell to the ground.
