A significant political clash is underway in Barkagaon over a Rs 12 lakh NTPC tender, reportedly for the residence of MLA Roshanlal Chaudhary. Former MLA Amba Prasad has launched a sharp attack against Chaudhary, alleging a conflict of interest and a betrayal of public trust. In a press conference, Prasad outlined the deep-seated issues faced by Barkagaon residents, such as displacement due to mining activities, exclusion from job opportunities, unresolved cut-off date disputes, and the tragic frequency of road fatalities. She accused the MLA of neglecting these critical problems and instead aligning himself with mining companies, implying a quid pro quo arrangement. Prasad further claimed that Chaudhary has failed to deliver any tangible development in his first year, merely reintroducing old projects under a new guise. She characterized this as a significant public deception, stating that Barkagaon’s progress has effectively stopped. The former MLA also criticized NTPC’s operational practices, stating that their focus on coal transport overshadows the plight of local communities and displaced families struggling with basic infrastructure. She maintained that the developmental status of Barkagaon remains stagnant. Urging the public to rally, Prasad called for increased awareness and collective action to fight for the area’s development, the rights of those displaced, and the future prospects of the young population.
