
Deputy Commissioner Abhijit Sinha presided over a critical meeting focused on key development initiatives for Basukinath Temple, aiming to significantly improve the experience for all visitors. A central theme of the discussion was the urgent need for improved sanitation and facilities within the temple complex, with special emphasis placed on the cleanliness of Shivganga. The Deputy Commissioner instructed officials to submit a swift action plan and project report for Shivganga’s restoration within a week, recognizing its profound spiritual importance for pilgrims. Enhancements to the temple’s surrounding cleanliness were also discussed, with immediate steps to be taken to elevate hygiene standards. The meeting considered the beautification of the temple approach through colored lighting from Nandi Chowk, alongside plans to increase ‘Jalapan’ counter capacity and establish new temporary toilet facilities. The administration stressed the importance of inter-departmental synergy to achieve the goal of providing a superior and convenient environment for devotees. The meeting saw participation from various departmental executives and leaders of the Panda Dharmarakshini Sabha and Nagar Panchayat.
