The Bharat Bandh caused widespread disruption in Jharkhand, with significant impacts on coal mining operations. Several unions organized protests and demonstrations across the state to ensure the strike’s success. At the Gobindpur excavation department in Dhanbad, union representatives were actively involved in halting work. This department is a key operational area of BCCL and is known for its coal mining activities, with both active and inactive mines.
The impact of the nationwide industrial strike extended to the Gandhi Nagar area as well. In Bokaro, leaders of the joint front stopped operations at the Khasmahal Konar project and Bokaro Colliery, leading to clashes in multiple locations. Conversely, some BMS leaders stated the strike was a failure.
Workers at the Bokaro Thermal Power Plant also staged protests. At the main gate of the CCL Gobindpur project, AMC-ARC laborers demonstrated in support of the strike, raising slogans. Protesters displayed black badges. Visual evidence of the bandh’s impact was widely shared.
