Babulal Marandi, the BJP State President and Leader of Opposition in Jharkhand, has accused the state government of manufacturing new crimes to hide existing criminal activities. According to Marandi, the government and the system have developed a practice of creating false narratives through fabricated offenses to obscure the truth. Recent Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids within the coal mafia’s operations in Dhanbad have reportedly exposed startling evidence. The most disturbing revelation is the alleged instruction given by certain ‘top police officials,’ who are allegedly benefiting from the proceeds of illegal coal mining, to permanently eliminate their lower-level associates. These individuals are reportedly being targeted because they are cooperating with ED investigations, and their elimination is seen as a method to prevent the truth from emerging. Marandi recalled previous instances in the state where ‘evidence encounters’ were staged instead of genuine arrests. He urged the ED to proceed with extreme caution, emphasizing that in Jharkhand, suppression of truth often prevails over its revelation. He concluded that when power, the system, and criminal syndicates operate in unison, the subversion of justice becomes a straightforward procedural matter.
