Ranchi police have made significant progress in the investigation of a September 7th shooting, arresting six individuals in connection with the death of Ravi Kumar. The shooting, which occurred in the Ratu police station jurisdiction, resulted in the injury of Rajballabh Gop. The investigation, completed in a remarkably short 12 hours, utilized technical expertise and local insights to identify and apprehend the suspects. The primary accused, Kunal Kumar (Basant Yadav), and the others, including Lal Mohan Prajapati, IMRoz Ansari, Bablu Yadav, Shrichand Prajapati (Chandu), and Vijay Prajapati (Kalu), were brought into custody. The underlying cause of the crime was a long-standing dispute between Kunal Kumar and his neighbor, Rajballabh Gop, rooted in disagreements over land. The conflict escalated after an incident involving Kunal’s father and subsequent confrontations. Seeking retribution, Kunal hired a group of individuals, offering ₹5 lakh to eliminate Rajballabh Gop. The shooters, tasked with identifying the target, misidentified the victim due to his white shirt, leading to the shooting of Ravi Kumar, who was seated nearby. Rajballabh Gop was also shot and wounded during the attack. The police confiscated the weapons, a motorcycle, and a car used in the crime.
