An appalling incident has occurred in the Chatra district of Jharkhand, where a man was murdered and his body burned, fueled by suspicions of witchcraft. The victim’s tongue was cut off before he was beaten to death by the assailants. Following the murder, the attackers set fire to the body. The deceased has been identified as Dharmdev Uraon. The crime took place in Khuntitola village, under the Tandwa police station’s jurisdiction. Upon receiving word of the murder, the police immediately went to the village, but the suspects had already fled. The police are actively working to arrest the perpetrators. The details reveal that the murder was likely motivated by the death of a young man who lived in the vicinity of Dharmdev Uraon a few months prior. The family of the deceased young man held Dharmdev responsible for their son’s demise, accusing him of using black magic.
