An alarming case of alleged child abuse has emerged from Jharkhand, where a teacher is accused of physically assaulting a student for complaining about the quality of food in the school hostel. The incident occurred at a private school located in the Gardarpo Panchayat area of Lohardaga district. The victim, eight-year-old Prince Uraon, a UKG student, sustained a broken finger and injuries to his leg as a result of the attack. The accused teacher has been identified as Kranti Kiran Kido. According to the FIR filed by the child’s father, Sukra Uraon, the teacher beat Prince with a stick on August 20th because he complained about the substandard food served in the hostel. Frightened by the assault, Prince fled the hostel and returned to his village, where he informed his family. Medical examinations at Sadar Hospital in Lohardaga revealed the severity of the injuries, including a fractured finger and wounds on his right foot. When the family attempted to address the issue with school staff, they reportedly faced disrespectful behavior. The school principal has refuted the accusations, calling them baseless. However, the Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, has taken cognizance of the matter, ordering a thorough investigation and appropriate action by the Lohardaga district’s Deputy Commissioner. The police are investigating the case based on the filed FIR.
