A disturbing incident has emerged from Jharkhand, where a teacher at a private school in Lohardaga district is accused of brutally assaulting a young student. The child, a UKG student named Prince Oraon, was allegedly attacked for complaining about the poor quality of food provided in the school’s hostel. The incident occurred at a school located under the Bhandra police station jurisdiction.
The teacher, Kranti Kiran Kido, is accused of the violent act, which led to a broken finger and other injuries on the child’s leg. Prince’s father, Sukra Oraon, filed a complaint with the Bhandra police, detailing how the teacher used a stick to beat his son on August 20th because he complained about the hostel food.
After the assault, Prince, scared, escaped the hostel and returned to his home. His family took him to Sadar Hospital in Lohardaga, where an X-ray confirmed the broken finger and other injuries. When the parents tried to speak to school authorities, they reported being treated disrespectfully. The school principal has since stated that the accusations are untrue, claiming the investigation will reveal the facts.
Reacting to the incident, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has ordered an immediate investigation by the Lohardaga district’s Deputy Commissioner, with instructions to take appropriate action. The Chief Minister also emphasized the need to ensure the child’s treatment and counseling. Police have launched an investigation based on the FIR filed against the teacher.
