Leader of Opposition and BJP State President Babulal Marandi has leveled serious charges against the Jharkhand government, accusing it of manufacturing new crimes to obscure existing ones. Marandi stated that this practice has become a norm for the government and the system in Jharkhand. Recent Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigations into Dhanbad’s coal mafia have uncovered damning evidence. The most alarming revelation is the alleged ‘order’ given by some ‘top police officials,’ allegedly benefiting from the illegal coal trade, to ‘eliminate’ their henchmen who are cooperating with the ED. This plot aims to prevent witnesses from revealing the truth during interrogations. Marandi drew parallels to past incidents in the state where ‘evidence was encountered’ under the guise of police action. He recalled a former DGP infamous for alleged contract killings and unprecedented corruption, with even ruling party figures denouncing his tenure. The opposition leader cautioned the ED to be extremely careful, noting that in Jharkhand, suppressing truth is rewarded, not revealing it. He warned that when the government, the system, and criminal enterprises operate in unison, the perversion of justice is almost inevitable.
