A critical strategy session was held, led by Deputy Commissioner Ramnivas Yadav, focusing on the prevention of drug trafficking and illicit cultivation. The district-level NCORD (Narcotics Coordination) committee met to assess the current situation and outline a robust action plan. The core of the discussion revolved around interdicting the flow of narcotics and eradicating illegal farming operations. All committee members were provided with specific instructions to enhance collaboration and establish effective communication channels.
The meeting provided a platform for an in-depth review of several critical aspects, including the scale of drug addiction, the geographical spread of drug-related activities, and the countermeasures implemented by various departments. The need for a synchronized effort to combat the pervasive problem of drug abuse and trafficking was underscored. Authorities were instructed to maintain a heightened state of awareness regarding drug offenses and to pay close attention to areas where opium cultivation is suspected. Immediate destruction of cultivated crops and swift legal action against the cultivators and their associates were mandated.
Further directives were issued to the Drug Inspector to ensure rigorous oversight of habit-forming medications. Verification of medical prescriptions before dispensing these drugs was stressed as a non-negotiable step. The Deputy Commissioner also called for decisive action against individuals operating as quack doctors, thereby preventing the illicit diversion of pharmaceutical drugs.
