
PVSSE DAV Public School in Jhumritilaiya became the hub for pedagogical advancement as it hosted a two-day workshop on ‘Strengthening Evaluation and Assessment Methodologies’ on November 8-9, 2025. Spearheaded by the Central Board of Secondary Education, Patna region, the training aimed to revolutionize teaching practices by familiarizing educators with cutting-edge, transparent, and skill-based assessment tools. The initiative is closely linked to the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020, striving to make education more impactful. The ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of a lamp by Principal Krishan Kumar Singh, who also served as the venue director. Key resource persons present included Chandan Kumar Dubey from Sainik School, Mukesh Kumar Prasad from Jharkhand Public School, and senior teachers Mousumi Mallik and Kumar Satish Singh. A melodious welcome song presented by the students added a warm touch to the opening. Principal Krishan Kumar Singh’s address provided insightful perspectives on the transformation of assessment paradigms, the importance of objective evaluation, and the indispensable role of teaching professionals. The workshop attracted 58 participants, including teachers from various DAV institutions and four educators from Jharkhand Public School. Participants received comprehensive training on new guidelines, standardized question design, assessment rubrics, project-based learning, and contemporary classroom assessment frameworks. Engaging activities such as group discussions, interactive quizzes, and practical exercises facilitated a deep understanding of assessment reforms. The resource experts underscored the necessity of student-centered evaluations that foster crucial life skills and competencies. The event concluded with a serene peace chant. Kumar Satish Singh formally proposed the vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of the CBSE, the expert speakers, the school management, the participating teachers, and the organizing staff. Chandni Dubey skillfully managed the coordination. Principal Krishan Kumar Singh affirmed that the workshop represents a significant stride towards integrating holistic, skill-based, and learner-centric approaches into education, fully embodying the spirit of NEP 2020.
