East Singhbhum district has launched a special awareness campaign against prohibited substances, as part of a statewide initiative by the state government. The campaign began with the launch of an awareness chariot at the Collectorate. Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi initiated the campaign, deploying a chariot to spread the message of de-addiction across the district. The chariot will visit different blocks within the district, informing people about the ill effects of drug abuse. The Deputy Commissioner also administered an anti-addiction oath to the officials and staff present at the Collectorate. He stated that addiction negatively impacts health, future, family and society, leading to both mental and physical health issues. The Deputy Commissioner appealed to all segments of society to join the campaign to create an addiction-free environment. He urged the public to take an active part and encourage their communities to avoid substance abuse. This special campaign will run from June 10 to June 26, 2025, and will incorporate various awareness programs to educate people about the negative consequences of drug addiction.
