
Ranchi witnessed the inauguration of the ‘East Tech Symposium-2025’ (Defence Expo), with Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and Chief Minister Hemant Soren in attendance. The event, hosted at the Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium in Khelgaon, is a significant initiative by the Union Ministry of Defence. Chief Minister Soren addressed the gathering, underscoring the event’s importance and expressing confidence in its ability to drive progress in the defense sector. He highlighted Jharkhand’s potential as a key player in the defense industry and pledged the state government’s commitment to support the central government’s efforts towards self-reliance in this critical area. The Chief Minister referenced the availability of essential raw materials and uranium deposits within the state, in addition to established industrial bases like HEC. Soren acknowledged the current challenges faced by HEC and emphasized the need for cooperative efforts between the central and state governments to support industrial development. He also acknowledged the presence of the Defence Chief of the Indian Armed Forces, highlighting the positive MSME initiatives and assuring the defense sector of the state government’s complete backing. The Defence Expo featured a range of experts, industrial organizations, technical institutions, and SMEs, all contributing to the advancements in the defense domain.
