The recent denial of a room to Jharkhand BJP MLA Dr. Kushwaha Shashibhushan Mehta at the Jharkhand Bhawan in Delhi has led to a public protest. Despite prior room bookings, the MLA was only offered a single room upon arrival. His queries about the booking process and room occupancy went unanswered, prompting him to stage a sit-in protest at the reception, where he ate his breakfast. The MLA criticized the current management of the Jharkhand Bhawan and sought the intervention of Chief Minister Hemant Soren to improve the accommodation process for Jharkhand MLAs. The Jharkhand Bhawan, completed in September 2024, is a modern seven-story building equipped with advanced facilities, including multiple guest rooms, suites, and VIP accommodations. Built with an investment exceeding 100 crore rupees, it features 45 guest rooms, 18 suites and 2 VVIP suites.
