
The Dhanbad district administration has kicked off its paddy procurement season, offering farmers a guaranteed Minimum Support Price (MSP) of ₹2450 per quintal. This vital agricultural support program was formally launched with the participation of local political leaders. Tundi’s procurement drive began under the auspices of Honourable MLA Mathura Prasad Mahto. In Dhanbad city, Honourable MLA Raj Sinha flagged off the initiative, while Baghmara saw the launch ceremony led by Honourable MLA Shatrughan Mahto. Various other blocks also celebrated the commencement with local representatives present.
Providing details, District Supply Officer Pankaj Kumar assured that farmers would receive their payments in full within a 48-hour window. To manage the influx of paddy, 18 dedicated procurement centers have been set up across the district. These include centers in Govindpur (Birajpur, Parasi, Tilaiya Jamua, Govindpur PACS), Topchanchi (Korkotta, Khariyo, Madaiydih PACS), Baliapur (Raghunathpur, Palani PACS), Dhanbad (Putki PACS), Tundi (Purnadih, Ojhadih Kataniya PACS), East Tundi (Latani Fatehpur PACS), Baghmara (Rajganj, Baghmara Khanudih PACS), Nirsa & Eklebra (Ghagha, Nirsa Chatti PACS), and Kalidaspur (Simuldan PACS). This initiative is expected to provide significant economic relief to the farming community.
