
The Dhanbad district administration has officially kicked off its paddy procurement operations, offering farmers a lucrative Minimum Support Price (MSP) of ₹2450 per quintal. This initiative is expected to significantly aid the agricultural sector by guaranteeing fair market value for paddy. A total of 18 procurement centers have been established to serve farmers across the district. The commencement of this scheme was marked by inaugurations led by local elected officials. Mathura Prasad Mahto, MLA, initiated the process in Tundi. In Dhanbad, the launch was overseen by MLA Raj Sinha, and in Baghmara, by MLA Shatrughan Mahto. District Supply Officer Pankaj Kumar emphasized the prompt payment system, assuring farmers that payments would be settled in full within 48 hours. The designated procurement centers cover a wide geographical area, ensuring that farmers from all blocks, including Govindpur, Topchanchi, Baliapur, Dhanbad, Tundi, East Tundi, Baghmara, Nirsa, Angarpathra, and Kalaiyashol, can easily access these facilities. The event saw active participation from farmers and officials, signaling a commitment to agricultural prosperity in the region.
