
A pivotal cluster-level awareness and training program, dedicated to the rights and social security benefits for persons with disabilities, was successfully organized at the Dhadadangal Panchayat Bhavan in Kathikund block. The event, facilitated by the Birsa Divyang Samiti, saw active participation from the Divyangjan community. Priyatam Kumar Singh, the Samiti’s Treasurer and Director, presided over the session. Key attendees included Dinesh Soren, the Mukhiya of Dhadadangal Panchayat, and Dr. Jitendra Kumar, a Senior Program Officer from Sight Savers India Bihar, who were the chief guests. Ajit Pathak, Special Educator from Dumka block, Nitesh Kumar (Samiti President), Sikki Kumari (Samiti Secretary), Upendra Rai (Samiti Accountant), and Vivek Kumar Singh (Tanya Computer Center operator) attended as special guests. Representatives from Sight Savers India Bihar and Pragati Divyangjan Seva Samiti were also present. The Samiti honored the guests with traditional attire. An integral part of the event was an exposure visit, allowing attendees to witness firsthand the beneficial schemes and services provided by the Birsa Divyang Samiti to Divyangjan. The participants were impressed by the Samiti’s work. The training was conducted by Ajit Pathak, benefiting 95 Divyangjan individuals from two Panchayats.
