A man in Jharkhand’s Dumka district has been murdered by his son-in-law in a brutal act stemming from a dowry dispute. The son-in-law’s demand for a tractor, which was not fulfilled, led to the violent confrontation. The local police swiftly intervened, taking the body for a post-mortem and arresting the accused.
The incident occurred in the village of Govindpur, under the jurisdiction of Saraiyahat police station. The father-in-law, Ravindra Kapri, had visited his daughter in Kadiya Tola after being informed of her illness. A heated argument ensued between him and his son-in-law, Sudhir Yadav, over the demand for a tractor as part of the dowry.
Ravindra possessed three tractors, and his son-in-law wanted one. The father-in-law’s refusal sparked the conflict, culminating in the son-in-law brutally attacking him with sticks and causing severe injuries. Ravindra was rushed to Deoghar’s Sadar Hospital, where he died while receiving treatment.
The local police were notified and took prompt action, arresting Sudhir Yadav from the Saraiyahat police station on charges of murder.
