In East Singhbhum district, a special state-wide awareness campaign against banned substances has been launched. The initiative was launched at the Collectorate premises. Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi initiated the campaign by flagging off an awareness chariot. The purpose of this chariot is to spread the message of freedom from addiction throughout the district. The chariot will tour various blocks in the district, educating people on the negative impacts of drug use. On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner also administered an oath of abstinence to all the officers and staff present at the Collectorate. He emphasized that addiction affects a person’s health, future, family and society, leading to mental and physical health issues. The Deputy Commissioner urged every part of society to take part in this campaign to create a drug-free society. He appealed to all citizens to take part and spread awareness against drug abuse. The district administration will use this campaign to spread the message of freedom from addiction across the district and to motivate all to steer clear of the harmful effects of drugs. The special campaign will run from June 10 to June 26, 2025. Different awareness programs will be conducted during this period to educate people about the repercussions of drug abuse.
