The East Singhbhum district has launched a special state-wide awareness campaign to combat the use of prohibited substances. The campaign was officially launched with the flagging off of an awareness chariot by Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi from the Collectorate. The primary aim of the chariot is to spread the message of freedom from addiction throughout the district, educating residents about the perils of substance abuse. At the event, the Deputy Commissioner also administered an oath against drug abuse to all officials and staff present. Highlighting the wide-ranging impact of drug addiction, he stated that it affects an individual’s health, future, family, and society, leading to both mental and physical health challenges. He called upon all segments of society to actively participate in creating a drug-free environment. The public is urged to engage in the campaign and educate others in their community about the dangers of drug use. The campaign will run from June 10, 2025, to June 26, 2025, and will involve several awareness programs designed to educate the public about the negative consequences of drug abuse.
