
The Eastern Zonal Council meeting, chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, is set to convene in Ranchi on July 10th. Shah is expected to arrive in Ranchi on July 9th at 10:20 PM. The meeting, to be held at Hotel Radisson Blu, will bring together representatives from Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, and West Bengal to discuss critical issues. Key topics include fast-tracking investigations of sexual offenses, providing banking facilities in every village, and strengthening education and health infrastructure. The Jharkhand government may raise the issue of outstanding dues from Coal India and other public sector undertakings, estimated at ₹1.36 lakh crore. Security arrangements have been significantly enhanced across Ranchi. Traffic diversions will be in effect, including a ban on auto-rickshaws on certain routes. The meeting was initially scheduled for May but was postponed due to the tense situation between India and Pakistan.
