An eight-year-old boy’s lifeless body has been retrieved from a well in Kundri village, Palamu district, sparking fear and suspicion of murder within the community. Vivek Kumar Verma, who had been missing since November 17, was identified by his grieving family. The discovery on Wednesday morning by villagers led to immediate allegations of foul play. While the police are investigating the incident as a possible accident, awaiting crucial post-mortem findings, the villagers are unconvinced. They have staged a protest, blocking the removal of the body and demanding a higher-level investigation into what they firmly believe is a murder. The boy disappeared while playing, and his family had been searching for him relentlessly. The recovery of his body from a nearby well has intensified their grief and suspicion. Local police are trying to pacify the agitated crowd and move forward with the necessary legal procedures, including the post-mortem examination. However, the villagers are standing firm on their demand for a full-scale inquiry into a potential murder conspiracy. The station house chief mentioned that the well is at ground level, common in the area, and a kite was found nearby, suggesting a possible accidental fall while the child was engaged in play.
