Senior Congress leader and former minister K.N. Tripathi has alleged a government conspiracy to have him killed, following the sudden removal of his police security detail. Tripathi, speaking after a meeting in Daltonganj, detailed how his protection is now managed by party cadres armed with modern weapons, a stark departure from standard protocol for former ministers.
He revealed that during a recent event, he noticed the absence of official police guards and inquired about it. His chilling response was: “The government is actively seeking my death and wants to silence my voice.” He further alleged that several police officers are involved in this conspiracy and that the government has abdicated its duty to protect him. “My security is the government’s responsibility by protocol, but they have removed it. My safety is no longer a concern for them,” Tripathi stated.
Tripathi also addressed the recent allegations of assaulting security personnel, calling them fabricated. “I was falsely accused of assaulting security staff as part of a planned conspiracy. Cases were filed against me under the Harijan Act and other laws to malign me,” he explained.
On the presence of armed individuals accompanying him, Tripathi clarified that these are not private security guards but dedicated Congress workers. “These are my supporters, committed to my safety. I do not employ them. The people of Daltonganj are my ultimate protectors,” he affirmed. He emphasized his courage and the voluntary nature of their support. “I fear no one. My workers stand with me willingly, some even bearing arms out of their own initiative for my protection,” he added.
Tripathi vowed to continue his activism. “My voice will not be suppressed. I will continue to expose wrongdoing. The government must explain its actions and the conspiracy against me,” he insisted.
