Jharkhand is gearing up to launch India’s first mining tourism venture, commencing on August 5th. This project, a collaboration between the state government and CCL, offers a unique opportunity to explore the state’s extensive mineral resources. The project will offer tours of coal mines, allowing visitors to experience the world of mining. Tour packages will include meals, sightseeing, and the guidance of experienced professionals. The tours will begin with the Urimari mines, and expansion plans include partnerships with BCCL to develop additional mining tourism circuits. Prior to entering the mines, visitors must adhere to safety and health protocols. The tourism packages are priced at ₹2800 (plus GST) per person for the Rajrappa temple and mining sites and ₹2500 (plus GST) for the Patratu Valley and mining site tour. Tours will be organized twice a week, with groups of 10 to 20 tourists. The project’s objective is to boost tourism and bring Jharkhand’s mineral heritage to the forefront.
