A devastating accident in the Simdega district of Jharkhand led to the deaths of a father-in-law and his daughter-in-law due to electrocution. The event occurred in Karadmair village, Bano block. Alfos Hobo and his daughter-in-law, Kumudini Dungdung, were at home when a ceiling fan broke. Alfos Hobo offered to fix the fan, and when he touched it, he received a shock. Kumudini Dungdung’s attempt to help resulted in her also being electrocuted. A local resident, Dilip Kandulna, was also shocked while attempting to assist but survived. The father-in-law and daughter-in-law were confirmed dead at the Bano Community Health Center. The community is now in mourning and anxious about electrical safety.
This follows a similar tragic event from 2024 in the Tamar police station area of Ranchi where a bus carrying a wedding party struck a power line, resulting in the deaths of three people, including a minor, and injuries to five others.
