A car parked at the outer gate of Tatanagar Railway Station caught fire unexpectedly on Saturday, creating a scene of panic. The flames quickly escalated, engulfing the entire automobile. Local individuals attempted to manage the situation, but the rapid spread of the fire necessitated summoning the fire brigade. Thankfully, there were no reports of any casualties. The car’s owner, Srinivas Nayak, a resident of Gamharia, had brought his family to the station to see his son off on the Duronto Express. He parked his Hyundai car by the outer gate and accompanied his family towards the platform. Moments later, smoke was observed originating from the car, followed by intense flames. Nearby individuals attempted to extinguish the fire with available water, but the blaze intensified rapidly, resulting in the total destruction of the vehicle. An emergency response team from the fire department arrived and, after a sustained effort, successfully contained the fire. Mr. Nayak mentioned that he received news of the car fire while inside the station. Upon coming out, he witnessed his car completely burnt. He theorizes that the incident might have been caused by a short circuit, although the precise reasons are still under scrutiny.
