
On Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary, a respectful gathering took place at his statue in Hill Chowk, with former Torpa MLA Koche Munda paying tribute. He placed flowers at the statue, honoring the revered tribal leader. The event was attended by local leaders, BJP cadres, and a large contingent of villagers.
Koche Munda lauded Bhagwan Birsa Munda as a national hero and a guiding light for the freedom movement, not just for tribal societies. He referenced the ‘Ulgulan’ movement, which Birsa Munda spearheaded against colonial oppression, and its transformative impact. The former MLA underscored that Birsa Munda’s journey of struggle, sacrifice, and social reform continues to inspire generations. He encouraged the youth to embrace his principles and contribute meaningfully to community and national development. Notable attendees included BJP State Working Committee member Santosh Jaiswal, Vinod Bhagat, and Shashank Shekhar Rai, alongside many other party members. Speakers at the event elaborated on Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s significant contributions, stressing the importance of unity among all societal groups to build the envisioned Jharkhand.
