Shantanu Modak, son of a farmer from Bangoi village in Jharkhand’s East Singhbhum district, has received a significant boost to his academic pursuits. The Jharkhand government has awarded him a scholarship of one crore rupees, facilitating his studies in London. This funding will allow him to attend the esteemed Imperial College and Warwick Business School for a Master’s degree in Business Analytics. The success of Shantanu, who hails from a modest background, serves as an inspiration to countless students facing financial challenges in their educational journeys. Nirmal Modak, Shantanu’s father, a farmer, supported his son’s education, even selling part of their ancestral land.
Shantanu’s hard work and dedication were recognized when he received the scholarship. He completed his schooling in Bodaam and subsequently pursued higher education in Jamshedpur. He holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and an M.Tech from NIT Durgapur. Though he aspired to be a scientist and passed examinations for BARC and ISRO, he wasn’t selected.
