Three men have been arrested by the police in Dumka, Jharkhand, in connection with the gang-rape of a young woman. The victim, who works as a stage performer, was tricked into going with the accused under the guise of a performance opportunity. She was threatened with death if she reported the incident. The police have taken the three suspects into custody and are conducting investigations. The victim, residing in a rented house in Deoghar, received a call on September 28 offering her a performance at a ‘Dandiya Night.’ Three men in a white car then came to pick her up, taking her to Handi Hasdiha. She asked where the event was, and was told they would pick up other girls. They brought her to a house where the event wasn’t happening. After she tried to leave, they locked her in a room and committed gang-rape, also filming the assault. Saurabh Kumar, Rajan Raj, and Paras Raj Yadav are the identified accused. The police registered a case and are interrogating the men. The victim has been sent for a medical examination, and she will present her statement in court on Saturday. The case is still under investigation.
