
The Ghatshila Assembly by-election results are leaning heavily in favor of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). As the counting progresses to its 13th round, JMM candidate Somesh Chandra Soren has expanded his lead over BJP’s Babulal Soren to an impressive 27,977 votes. Official figures report that Somesh Chandra Soren has amassed 71,343 votes, with Babulal Soren trailing at 43,366 votes. This widening gap has created an atmosphere of celebration within the JMM ranks and a sense of concern for the BJP. Among the other contenders, Ramdas Marandi of the JLKM has garnered 9,472 votes, with numerous independent candidates far behind. The NOTA option has accounted for 1,938 votes. The consistent upward trend in the JMM’s vote share throughout the 13 rounds has amplified the optimism and confidence of party activists regarding the final outcome.
