The famous Jharkhand Dham temple in Giridih district is facing a significant issue as its high mast light, positioned near the marriage hall, has ceased to function. This light was essential for illuminating the temple surroundings and providing a safe, well-lit environment for pilgrims after sunset. The area around the majestic fifty-one-foot Hanuman temple, a key destination for many visitors, was particularly benefited by this light, which had been operational for months. The lack of light not only creates an eerie atmosphere but also increases the risk of encountering wild animals or venomous creatures, hindering devotees’ ability to move around freely after dark. Installed with funds from the Member of Parliament’s scheme before the last state assembly elections, the light was a symbol of development and provided a sense of security. However, this important public utility, linked to the current MP Annapurna Devi, is now inoperable. Despite repeated appeals and complaints submitted to the responsible departments, no action has been taken to rectify the situation. Local figures such as Mukhiya Ashutosh Kushwaha, Panchayat Samiti members Rajesh Verma, Dilip Pandey, Subhash Panda, Mukhiya Pati Lakshman Mahto, Ranjit Mandal, and Vikas Mandal have collectively called for the urgent repair of the high mast light.
