Tripathi has asserted that the state government is actively seeking his death, pointing to the immediate removal of his official police security. Tripathi, who claims to be the sole former minister in the state left without governmental protection, now relies on the voluntary security provided by his supporters. The withdrawal of his police escort reportedly followed an incident involving a dispute with his assigned security personnel.
