Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar stated that the fight against cancer involves more than medical treatment; it requires empathy and a shared responsibility. Speaking at a cancer summit in Ranchi, he underscored the disease’s impact on not just the body but also on the mental, social, and emotional states of the entire family. The Governor noted that compassion, trust, and a sense of connection are as vital in cancer treatment as medicines. He also highlighted the necessity for dedicated efforts in Jharkhand, especially in rural regions, to ensure timely diagnosis and effective treatment for cancer patients. He praised the ‘Ayushman Bharat’ scheme as a critical step towards providing free and quality care to the underprivileged and emphasized the need for a combined effort from doctors, hospitals, the government, and the community for the initiative’s success.
